Sexiest Woman Alive//

Words don't do her justice and images capture only half of her beauty I am sure. I just finished watching her new comedy  L'arnacoeur or "Heartbreakers" state side. I would describe it as very Hollywood and a little bit French. I highly recommend seeing the film regardless, it is by no means a deep and artistic work of art but it is much better then the mass market Hollywood comedies that are out now and you won't be able to take your eyes off of her or her male co-star, Romain Duris. Be taken in by the beauty herself, Vanessa Paradis! I just can't get over her captivating beauty. -Enjoy

After a full day of interviews and job hunting I went to join a friend of mine who was hosting a trunk show for True Faith Jewelry, designed by Ramona Singer the infamous cast member of Bravo’s Real Housewife’s of NYC.

The original intention was to get a sound bite and free press for charity project that our organization, People Reaching Out is working to support in Malawi. Side Note: Yes I am in the middle of a job search and running my own small consulting firm. I need to make a decision soon to either take the leap or get back into a traditional work environment. Regardless, the main point was to meet new people and garner some press but I actually found myself interested in some of pieces in the collection. True Faith has been positioned as jewelry for the every day woman and those who like to swap their collections when traveling. The pieces are obviously not hand made Marie-Lise Lachapelle equivalents but they sit nicely in their marketplace.

The other thing that really piqued my interest was the Pinot Grigio that was being served at the gathering. It was the first time unveiling the RAMONA pinot grigio which has been a collaborative effort between the Singer family and a winemaker in Italy. I was told by Mario, Ramona’s husband that it was his initial idea but her fine taste that led to the final grape selection and end product. The two of them make a great team!

Those who know me know that I am a bit of a wine-o, ok a real pain in the butt when it comes to wine, but I was shockingly surprised. I typically never drink pinot’s unless it’s the only option at an open bar and even then I may hover closer to my water glass than my wine.

The first observation made when I tried the wine was that it had a really good nose. I originally decided to pass my usual wine evaluation steps and just go for it thinking that I would need to swallow and then sarcastically put on a huge smile and say, “Wow that’s great, its an interesting flavor and has great layers and depth” while thinking to myself, I feel so bad for the people that go out and purchase this product. But after the taste registered satisfactory in by brain, I went back to the nose because it was the first thing to grab my attention. After thinking for a few min, I had to say that the wine was not bad. It was actually quite good, well for a pinot.

The nose was very upfront, stable, pleasantly fruity and complex with a tiny bit of spice and on the pallet it was what I call a forward drinking wine. It had great character, a decent texture and mix of flavors that surprised me. I would recommend as a good everyday table wine that would pair well with a flaky white fish that’s subtle in flavor like a branzino or sea bass. I never asked about price point but I would have to say that I could see it retailing in NYC around the $13 mark.

I am so product-ed out at this point. But moving on I do want to comment on all of the terrifically wonderful women I met. Excluding the shows cast members – who were all just a bit too-cool-for-school, all of the ladies that evening were extremely engaging, dynamic and entertaining. One woman whom I truly enjoyed meeting was Nancy Spears. Nancy is a true entrepreneur and marketing guru. She is a published author, and spiritual leader. After selling her first company to the interpublic group she took time to reevaluate her next business venture. She has recently launched genConnect, an online community to connect with the best of life's experts across generations. Ice Cream, Acupuncture & CHANEL //

Today was the perfect fall day, filled with all of the things that I love! It began with the not so fun task of waiting for the Time Warner Cable man to come and switch out our old router. Then I was on to the good stuff.

I got my first acupuncture treatment in over a year. My acupuncturist had changed locations so that she would be able to offer a more comprehensive array of services and her new place is amazing. I had seen her for many things over the years and today was my first stop back in for a tune up. Little did I know it was going to take me over three hours. After the needles are in place she typically lets me rest for 45min or so. This visit I passed out for 3+ hours. It was amazing. The deepest sleep I have had in years, thanks to my snoring husband. I awoke so refreshed and energized but still a little spacey from all of the balanced chi. I love when she allows me to sleep with the needles in – it provides another layer of rejuvenation and balance. After I woke up I wandered around the shops and grabbed a Ginger Beer (my favorite soda) from Prêt A Manger in Union Square. On my way out I saw the Big Gay Ice Cream Truck. I couldn’t resist so I had to check it out. Anyone who knows me knows that I am an ice cream connoisseur. I grew up surrounded by ice cream, as it was my family’s business. I had to try what the truck was offering with names like The Salty Pimp, Gobbler and Bea Arthur how could you not? After twenty min of internal debate I decided on The Gobbler, which is a vanilla sunday with homemade pumpkin butter, graham cracker crumble and whipped cream.

I was so taken back by the flavors of the Gobbler it tasted like a scrumpsciously crunchy and creamy pumpkin pie. The pumpkin butter was perfectly spiced and added loads of balanced flavor. YUM!!! A sprinkle of sea salt on the top would have made the treat beyond perfection. 

I really wanted to try the special, which was a vanilla sunday with olive oil, a fig reduction and sea salt sprinkles. I have made a very similar vanilla basil olive oil ice cream with strawberries and candied olives in the past so I decided to go with the pumpkin. I will however be going back for the olive oil and sea salt extravaganza. Did I mention that these gourmet delights are all being made out of an old Mr. Softee street truck?

Side Note Rant: After the recent horrific tragedy's within New York's LGBT community it was great to see people out and representing. The unconscionable intolerance of those who committed the hate crimes will not be tolerated or accepted in our city.

After indulging in my little creamy delight I headed back uptown and stopped off at a vintage shop that I walk by daily. I never go in because I figured that the good vintage stores were all downtown. What drew me into the store this time was a gorgeous cloche in the window but it ended up being a bit too small for my head. I did still manage to fall in love with a few pieces. One was a double cashmere camel colored Halston mid-length dress and sweater set. I think I am going back tomorrow to purchase. But the one piece I could not leave without was a black CHANEL dress. I actually prefer wearing it as an overcoat though; the buttons alone were well worth the hefty price tag. I will be sure to share my future finds from this shop with you all in the future.
